The Wax Horse Head Creature (3D) Progress - Pasheer and the Lost Middle World, and Little Side Quest

Honestly, who would have thought that taking a break from a project really makes you wanted to go back to it again in the future! I think it's great to trust yourself that you'll continue back to a project without guilt or shame, because that way I finish more than ever!

Behold, a further progress on the Horse Head Creature!

I'm thinking to try to make one axis hinge movement, like the concept below:

What truly makes me wanted to go back to this project?

Well first, of all, I was hugely inspired after watching Ash Bentley's Youtube Video on Making Man-taur, and it really gave me a sudden realization that the reason why I love making sculptures for Visual Effects/Practical Effects, was really to surprise people than impress them. So any silly photos of them that made people question, that's what I am aiming for.

Looking at my past project, it reminds me of this Creature Project in which I sent this photo to my parents as a prank

And also, I had this photo taken as a fun silly thing because I recently finished painting a 3D sculpture that I bought from 3DCults. The sculpture is done by CrabCreatures.

The fact that I made a lot of people feeling eeriely impressed is something that keeps me going

Practicing Patiences with Knitting - A Side Quest

This is something that I struggle after I finished very large project which is a fully-painted anime figure, because it comes with massive burnout.

Side note, I just recently finished a Project Log Documentation Vol. 1 that compile every documentation photos in it. You can take a look and purchase in my ko-fi, in the link here

Honestly after this project, it's really hard to get back into 3D Project or even any longer project. Not long after, I had an interest in knitting socks because at first, I feel like it could be a good replacement for social media scrolling. Here's how the latest progress looks! image

Thanks to this knitting project, I had realization that it is totally okay to take my time because knitting is in fact, slow progress! Trusting myself that I'll finish this sock without shame and guilt is key to making a long project. And so, I could apply the same to this longer project of "Pasheer and the Lost Middle World".

I feel like I will create more artwork when I just focus on what I am excited to make next instead of having to turn it into an Intellectual Property to sell. While that is a valid option, but I wanted to remind myself that the reason of making this project is really to not be afraid of testing concepts into 3D, or any form of creation without shame and guilt.

For the longest time being an artist in the industry, especially having a public social media presence, there is always this nagging feeling of 'many eyes are looking at you for whatever you are making, and people will talk about it if your work isn't as strong as previous one'. I'll be honest, if the artwork isn't even for portfolio, then I am allowed to make as much mistakes and learn from it as possible. Or not! We are here to create things and have fun.

Anyway, that's all for the project log post, I'm so excited where this project will go. I'll see you on the next one!
